Ballisager, a major Danish HR/recruitment consultancy, publish an annual, national recruitment survey. The 2019 recruitment survey has just been published. We would like to share some of the most significant findings with you The respondents were 934 Danish companies, of which 71% are private and 29% are public. The survey was voluntary and posted to 1663 companies.
Recruitment channels
Companies typically use 3 recruitment channels
- 76% of companies publish their jobs on traditional media such as job databases
- 58% use their network
- 51 % use Linkedin.
The use of Linkedin has declined by 4% since last year in both the private and public sector.

Number of applicants per published position
The number of applications per published job decreased from 2016 to 2019
- The average number of applications per job advertisement is 50
- Private companies receive an average of 47 applications
- Public companies receive an average of 59 applications
Automated screening of applications
Only one in 7 companies use automated screening of applications. Public organisations are the most frequent users with 17%
