How to make the most of virtual job fairs

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, numerous companies turn to virtual career fairs as a hiring strategy. Consequently, many scheduled on site job fairs will be offered as online events for the foreseeable future.

On September 8th 2020, Workindenmark will be hosting Do I.T in Denmark - an online job fair for IT specialists who wish to work in Denmark. We will also participate in a number of other European online events in autumn 2020. On the job fairs we post vacant positions, participate in chats with candidates and make presentations suited to the specific event. At Do I.T. in Denmark, we showcase 80 ICT vacancies from more than 20 Danish companies.

Our IT job fair and many other virtual job fairs are accessible on the European Jobdays Portal.

Here are our tips on how to make the most of Doing I.T in Denmark and other virtual job fairs at which Workindenmark is present. Additionally we will give you an insight into how Workindenmark recruitment consultants work during and after the events, so you can help us help and find you.

Preparing your CV

When you sign up for an event, you will be able to upload your CV on the portal. Before you do so, it is advisable to spend some time exploring how to target your CV to the expectations of Danish recruiters and employers. We offer a free of charge e-learning module on CV and cover letter on This should help you get started.

Please note that Europass CVs are not commonly used in Denmark.

Make sure you include contact information and your e-mail address. We will contact you via the portal, but sometimes we would like to send you a personal e-mail in case we need clarifying information from you.

How to respond to the posted job advertisements

The portal allows you to apply for the posted jobs. However, when you click apply, you only show interest in the specific job. If you wish to apply, you will have to send your application directly to the company as stated in the job advertisement.

Nevertheless we would like you to use the apply option, as we gain a better understanding of your job wishes when you indicate your interest. We advise you to be selective in your choices and only “apply” when the job is genuinely interesting to you and you match the requirements listed in the job advertisement.

Chat with Workindenmark

Workindenmark staff will be ready to chat with you during the events, and we are happy to answer your questions. We use standard Skype (not Skype for Business), so make sure you have a Skype account before the event.

On the day of the event, the chat button will be activated and linked to Skype.

We advise you to prepare and write down your questions before the event, so you may copy/paste your questions into the chat. We also would like you to ask specific questions about the jobs or the sector – remember we have limited time and we usually receive many questions on the day of the event.

In addition to Workindenmark, there will be 4-6 exhibiting companies and info-points will be available for the chat in following timeslots at "Do I.T. in Denmark" on 8th September.
