We are looking for a Lead Static Mechanical Engineer who will be part of a site team, managing the EPC execution work for the new Tyra TEG Processing Module.
The Senior Static Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for all static mechanical equipment, components and materials, including piping, vessels and valves.
Tyra is Denmark’s largest gas field. A full redevelopment will restore the infrastructure that processes 90% of Denmark’s North Sea gas.
After more than 30 years of production the Tyra field requires redevelopment because of the subsidence of the chalk reservoir. This has led to the Tyra platforms sinking by around 5 metres since production started, and has reduced the gap between the sea and the platform decks.
Maersk Oil and its partners in the Danish Underground Consortium (DUC) are committed to progress a full redevelopment plan for the Tyra field.
A full redevelopment will restore important North Sea gas infrastructure of pipelines and platforms. Tyra will continue to be the hub for export of Danish North Sea gas to shore.
The new asset ensures continued production from the Tyra field and the surrounding satellite fields. It also enables future projects and production of oil and gas volumes from the DUC license area as well as third party projects in the North part of the Danish North Sea.
Joining Maersk Oil as part of the Tyra Future Project, you will be part of a highly experienced team that are delivering innovative technical capabilities to ensure successful redevelopment of the field.
You will get to share your ideas as part of a cross-functional team and be part of site teams, managing the EPC execution work.
This position will initially be based in Esbjerg, Denmark with regular travel to site.
As the project progresses the role may move to Site as part of continued operations.
Ensure design within area of responsibility is developed in compliance with approved project specifications, Maersk Oil technical standards and Maersk Oil Documentation Instructions.
Review and assure that engineering documents (within discipline) from other sites is in strict compliance with Maersk Oil design standards, technical standards and documentation instructions
Ensure design documents within area of responsibility are reviewed by peers and Maersk Oil technical authorities and relevant comments incorporated in design.
Participate in HAZID, Design Reviews etc. Assure timely close out of all findings.
Focal point on platform layout.
Ensure interfaces to other scopes are well defined and agreed with the other interface parties.
Ensure that the static mechanical component scope of other disciplines is developed in compliance with approved project specifications, Maersk Oil technical standards and Maersk Oil Documentation Instructions.
Ensure construction is executed in accordance with certified design and specifications.
Ensure that destructive test program is agreed and followed for all pressure containing materials. Appropriate action is taken towards any non-conformances.
Ensure that all welding and NDE is carried out in accordance with MO approved procedures.
Ensure quality of the construction is in accordance with specifications and good workmanship by site inspections.
Assure that all pressure testing, leak testing and chemical cleaning is executed in strict compliance with project specifications
Participate in factory acceptance tests and ensure vendor deliveries are in accordance with specifications, standards and good workmanship.
Ensure onshore commissioning is conducted to the extent possible to minimize offshore scope.
During the daily work at the construction sites, always monitor safety behavior, and immediately report any observations not being in line with Safety Procedures and the MO incident free mindset.
Ensure any deviations to approved documents are handled in the TQ system and approved at the right level via design change notifications and in case of deviation to company standards with a deviation request.
Ensure good and close collaboration with relevant peers as EPC Contractor, relevant vendors, 3rd party, production representatives and other project internal stakeholders.

To succeed in this position, you will have:
Engineering degree (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical Engineering.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineer with solid experience with engineering, project execution, commissioning and field start-ups.
Extensive experience in Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas Facilities – design, project execution and commissioning with a strong understanding of technical safety systems, project management systems, quality and technical integrity, change management, waiver/query management.
Demonstrable knowledge of Static Mechanical design, construction, commissioning and start-up.
Proven knowledge of and thorough understanding of piping design in connection with large scale offshore projects.
Solid knowledge of piping design, piping stress analysis and support design, B31.3.
Specific competencies within one area or more such as piping systems, tanks, valves, heat exchangers, pressure vessels and other related components.
Extensive experience working with static mechanical layout and piping design in a Greenfield environment within the oil and gas industry.
Familiar with international oil and gas industry design standards.
Ability to challenge and improve best practices on new offshore facilities.
Team player with excellent inter-personal and leadership skills with good communications skills are essential.
Fluent in spoken and written English
Effective planning and organizational skills, with the ability to adapt and improvise in an environment with high diversity.
Able to take sound technical decisions in co-ordination with technical authorities, design engineers, project management team, etc. to ensure top class project delivery.
Ability to see the assigned scope in the broader picture of the project and ensure the chosen solutions match in the overall project.
