Responsibilities and tasks
The research scientist will participate in projects in the Research Group on Bioactives. The group has a dynamic staff with high international visibility, many research collaborations with leading international universities and organisations and a successful track record of national and international research projects.
Candidates are expected to contribute to further development of research and innovation activities related to the group with particular emphasis on lipids, prevention of lipid oxidation using different technologies and protein hydrolysates as functional ingredients including antioxidants.
Candidates are expected to engage in innovation and advisory activities in relation to food technology in a broad sense. Some scientific advice, teaching and supervision activities are to be expected as a supplement to the research work.
There will be close collaboration with industrial partners and an extensive cross-disciplinary collaboration with other researchers at DTU, The candidate will in particular collaborate with other researchers who perform research on protein hydrolysis, bioinformatics, peptide fractionation and application of peptides
Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.
Emphasis will be on the candidate’s qualifications on lipids, lipid oxidation, protein hydrolysates including both theoretical knowledge on and practical experience with assessing lipid oxidation and antioxidant effects in emulsions and other delivery systems, as well as developing strategies to prevent lipid oxidation

•the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities
•experience in teaching
•an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
The position as researcher is a position as part of which the employee after a maximum of 4 years transfers to a position as senior researcher provided that the employee is recommended for assessment and is deemed qualified. More information can be found here: Career paths at DTU.
