The Copenhagen based design studio Glyn Peter Machin design and make high-end furniture and exclusive accessories for the interiors and exteriors of private super yachts, luxury residences and exclusive hotels around the world.
The studio is innovative and ambitious and is now looking at increasing its production capacity. As part of our growth we are looking to recruit a skilled and experienced Furniture CAD Technician to join an exclusive team dedicated to produce the finest furniture in the world.
The candidate should have an extensive understanding of furniture construction, scale and materials. Experience as an ex- cabinetmaker would be a big advantage as well as excellent draughting skills and a very keen attention to detail.
Communication skills will be important as the role will involve daily interaction with the director of design, designers and production staff as well as the studios managing director. The ability to manage workload to achieve deadlines is fundamentally important. The candidate must have at least 3 years experience in the industry with fluency in AutoCAD and Solidworks preferable.
Language skills are important with a full knowledge of English both spoken and written being a minimum requirement.
Daily responsibilities include:
Producing meticulous furniture manufacture drawings, primarily of unique custom made items.
Liaising with our designers, production department and workshop to develop new mechanisms and designs.
Preparing, submitting and editing AutoCAD drawings and, possibly, 3D Solidworks models.
Management of drawing and 3D model archive.
Ability to work on own initiative as an experienced CAD operator.
