Vestas Global Procurement is overall responsible for all supply chain management activities within Vestas Wind System A/S, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations, cost out initiatives, category strategy development and implementation, quality and delivery performance, supplier relationship management and Supplier Account Management.
Specifically, the position is related to managing the bearings category and functionally leading the related team. This category covers all bearings in the wind turbine, including main bearings, blade bearings and generator bearings, currently supplied by a diverse supplier portfolio with a 3 digit million EUR spend per year. The bearings area is an integrated part of the overall Powertrain area, which is a vital part of the overall wind turbine.
You will lead key initiatives in Global Procurement, focused on value add, supplier relationship management, innovation and supply chain optimisation. Working closely with the category team and key stakeholders you will:
lead your supply base to support Vestas' overall strategy
develop strategies for the category, ensuring strategic focus, best in class solutions, competitive advantages, long term planning and target setting.
become a leading part of the category team, working across different business units within Vestas and providing input to and implementation of the category strategies.
become a key stakeholder in Vestas' product development roadmap by front lining activities related to new product introduction, joint innovation and technology projects towards relevant Bearing suppliers.
drive continuous improvement programs both internally and at the suppliers with special focus on cost saving initiatives, value chain optimisation, supplier optimisation, component standardisation, excellent quality, zero injury safety record and best in class commercial terms.
ensure adherence to KPI’s set by Global Procurement in regards to safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability.
lead aftermarket value add initiatives and drive best in class optimisation initiatives.
lead supplier selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting within the category.
identify and implement new suppliers across the globe.
The right candidate has
5+ years' negotiating experience combined with a degree in either supply chain management, finance/accounting, sales/marketing or engineering
Excellent communication skills including fluent English skills (both orally and in writing)
Advanced skills within Power Point, Excel & Word is a must
